The Kansas Lottery will meet next week to take steps to bring two casinos to the state. The meetings will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday so that the lottery’s Gaming Facility Review Board can hear the proposed details for building and managing casinos in the northeast and south central regions.

International Speedway Corporation and Penn National Gaming (PENN: 25.62 0.00%), have joined forces to develop and manage one of the proposed casinos in Kansas City.

The planned casino will overlook the Kansas Speedway, home to the NASCAR racetrack at the center of an already vibrant tourist destination.

The $521 million project would add additional entertainment venues including a casino and hotel to the dinning and retail facilities surrounding the track.

The presented plans call for construction on a hotel by 2014, two years after the planned opening of the casino.
