Las Vegas Sands Honor Veterans
Last week Las Vegas Sands Corp (LVS: 15.54 0.00%) honored 70 wounded members of the military and their families and friends with a three day event in honor of Veterans Day.
The Venetian Resort sponsored the celebration with a three night stay, a welcome reception, nightly dinners at its finest restaurants and a performance of the Blue Man Group. This years event marks the fourth straight year the Resort has sponsored the celebration.
American Airlines painted yellow ribbons on three of its air crafts that were used to fly the veterans from military medical facilities in Washington and San Antonio to Las Vegas, where they were greeted by McCarran International Airport with a red carpet welcome.
Once escorted to the Venetian Resort on the Vegas strip, the honorees made their way through a path lined with employees of the casino company and several patrons that formed a path from the front entrance to the outdoor lagoon.
Venetian President Rob Goldstein addressed the guest by saying, “We’ve done this four times now, and it always seems to get more emotional, but it’s part of our duty, part of our honor and part of our privilege to welcome you so that you can experience some wonderful hospitality.”
Other participants include Senator John Ensign and active duty troops from Nellis Air Force Base.
