According to the Indiana Gaming Commission, The World Poker Tour spiked revenue for Penn National Gaming (PENN: 29.90 +3.00%) to the highest in almost a year.

Revenue numbers show that the March event brought an increase in attendance for the Hollywood Lawrenceburg casino up 16% to 353,000 patrons during the month, bringing total quarterly attendance to just under 1 million gamblers.

The casino also saw a 14% revenue increase during the month to $40 million in adjusted gross revenue, the highest total since July 2009, when the casino re-opened after a renovation and rebranding.

Revenue from table games was up 23% from February’s numbers reaching $6.5 million. For the quarter revenue was up 15% to $111.5 million.

“For the first time in the history of the property, we did over a million dollars in just poker revenue alone,” said Hollywood General Manager Tony Rodio. “There was spillover into other table games. We had our best table month in a long, long time.”
