Pinnacle To Clean Up The Mess
Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford’s is looking to Pinnacle Entertainment (PNK: 7.16 0.00%) to help revive his struggling city and clean up the mess the struggling casinos have left behind.
Last month the Mayor proposed the creation of a Street Sweepers Division aimed at cleaning up the Resort districts, by walking the streets sweeping, cleaning storm drains and raking leaves.
Meanwhile according to Councilman Dennis Mason, the casino operator reportedly offered support to help clean up the city by paying for new sidewalks and other clean up efforts around the Pacific Avenue site where they imploded the old Sands Casino Hotel. The gaming company knocked down the structure to make way for a mega resort that was halted due to the economy.
However a spokeswomen for Pinnacle contacted by press did not know the status of the potential cleaning efforts and Councilman Steven Morre, head of the city’s Public Works Committee also said he knew nothing of the plan.
The Mayor also has proposed a land swapping agreement to trade city land owned by companies for an equally sized space at Bader Field. He had hoped that Pinnacle would be an interested party.
