Ferris Bueller’s Day Off includes movie clips and special features based on scenes from the cult classic where the player can Fake the Parents and Kick the Car.

Hadfield has resigned effective immediately from his position as Chief Executive Officer and Director of the internet gaming developer, a position he has held since 2008.

The reasons for Hadfield’s immediate departure is unknown, however market speculation has indicated that the companies record losses for the period ending June 30 was behind the separation.

Chairman, David Gavagan will assume the position on an interim basis until a permanent replacement can be found.

Huw Spiers will begin his role as Chief Financial Officer on August 15 and the two will work together on future restructuring plans that will include a reduction in the workforce.

During the quarter CryptoLogic said that revenue was down resulting in a net loss of $12.7 million, citing a decrease in poker revenue and rising cost as the reason behind the poor financials.

With today’s release of second quarter financials, the online gaming software developer reported a wider loss for the quarter.

For the period ending June 30, CryptoLogic Limited reported a net loss of $12.7 million, or $0.98 per share compared to a loss of $6.2 million or $0.46 per share in the year ago period, with revenue declining to $6.7 million.

Analysts on average were expecting CryptoLogic to report a loss of $0.28 per share.

In order to help minimize costs, CryptoLogic said they will have to reduce its workforce before the end of the year but will pursue all avenues available to enhance shareholder value.

Under the terms of the three year agreement, Tain has licensed the rights to use CryptoLogic’s new Instant Click gaming package at more than a dozen online gaming sites. CryptoLogic will receive a share of wagering revenue generated by the games.

The Instant Click program allows for rapid deployment of more than 300 of CryptoLogic’s online casino games through the websites own e-gaming infrastructure.

In the first quarter, CryptoLogic reported a net loss of $3.2 million or $0.25 a share, but remained optimistic about the growth potential that recent improvements in wagering activity and new licensees would bring. However on Thursday, the internet gaming developer said that they do not expect to release favorable results for much of 2010.

“Despite the World Cup, casino revenue showed a modest gain quarter on quarter but was lower than anticipated due to a substantial swing in player preferences for blackjack and roulette,” although wagering and deposit levels are holding steady.

Furthermore, CryptoLogic said that the launch of its full suite of casino games at Betsafe has been delayed until later this month, further effecting second quarter results.

The internet poker room has announced that they have entered into a new agreement to switch their gaming software from CryptoLogic to GTECH G2.

“The new deal with GTECH G2 marks the end of a successful three-and-a-half year affiliation with CryptoLogic, which started before the DTD Poker Club venue opened in Nottingham.” said Nick Whiten of DTD.

“CryptoLogic has changed its business model to focus on casino, and with DTD Online continuing to be primarily a poker business, a natural and mutual end to the partnership has transpired” Whiten added.

Spiers will take over the role effective August 15, 2010 when current CFO, Stephen Taylor will return to Canada to assist subsidiary CryptoLogic Inc through a transitional period.

The Ireland based company released its quarterly financials today with a net loss of $3.2 million or $0.25 a share compared with a loss of $1.3 million in the same period last year.

Revenue fell a sharp 25% to $7.6 million, but the company says sales will gradually improve due to recent improvements in wagering activity and new licensees.

CryptoLogic also said that its internet casino hosting suite for Betsafe.com will go live in the second quarter, which will help drive revenue up.

The lawsuit filed under the JAMS Comprehensive Rules in New York City centers on claims that Marvel has committed material breaches of certain provisions of its licensing agreement with the online betting games and Internet casino software developer.

Last year a subsidiary of Marvel, Marvel Characters B.V signed a multi-year licensing agreement allowing rival game developer Playtech the use of Marvel motion picture brands. However CryptoLogic already had an exclusive licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment enabling them to capitalize on lucrative Marvel brands through 2013.

According to executives with CryptoLogic, the company had sought to resolve the issue without resorting to arbitration but has been left with no alternative to taking this step to protect its licensing rights and commercial interests.

CryptoLogic has launched more than 17 slot games featuring classic Marvel superheroes including Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Blade and the Sub-Mariner.

Today the global developer of online betting games and internet casino software signed a new multi-year deal with William Hill PLC to license a suite of at least 10 branded casino games including Bejeweled, Cubis, King Kong and Millionaires Club.

Nine games have already been launched on www.williamhill.com with another expected in the coming weeks.

William Hills Site will deploy CryptoLogic’s games through a technology platform provided by Orbis technology.

CryptoLogic will receive recurring revenues based on wagers placed by William Hill’s customers.

Bettson will provide CryptoLogic with recurring revenue based on wagers placed by Betsson’s gamblers.

A loss of $24.8 million or $1.97 a share has been reported with quarterly revenue down 13% to $9.9 million due to lower contributions from Internet radio and Internet poker businesses.

CryptoLogic said they expect to further reduce overhead cost in 2010 by implementing additional measures to streamline operations and lower overall employee expenses.

As well as integrating its Cyprus office with existing operations in Malta. As a result of the relocation being completed later this year the company hopes to enhance customer service and back office capability. Staff based in Cyprus are being offered the opportunity to relocate.

In addition the company is also actively developing gaming content tailored for the rapidly expanding mobile Internet, social networking and 3-D environments with its first 3-D games anticipated to be launched in Q2 2010.

The licensing agreement will provide the gaming company with a recurring revenue stream based on wagers placed by over one and half million BetClic customers.

The contract calls for at least six additional games to be launched on the site by the end of the year and at least three more in early 2010. Disney purchased Marvel for a $4 billion combination of stock and cash. While most of the top superheroes are already locked into various merchandising and licensing deals, like the CryptoLogic online casino deal, Disney may plan to alter agreements as they expire.

Disney is known as a company fiercely protective of its manufactured “family-friendly” image, going so far as to fine workers seen in public without full costume. If Marvel heroes are merged with Mickey Mouse and company at children’s parks, gambling contracts may bring heat from religious groups.

While CryptoLogic’s current deals run through 2011, the future of comic book hero online slots may be up in the air for a while.
