Today the global developer of online betting games and internet casino software signed a new multi-year deal with William Hill PLC to license a suite of at least 10 branded casino games including Bejeweled, Cubis, King Kong and Millionaires Club.

Nine games have already been launched on www.williamhill.com with another expected in the coming weeks.

William Hills Site will deploy CryptoLogic’s games through a technology platform provided by Orbis technology.

CryptoLogic will receive recurring revenues based on wagers placed by William Hill’s customers.

The online gaming developer will launch at least nine of its most popular slot games to the leading European e-gaming operator reaching a broad subscriber base in more than 18 countries through Bettson’s three websites.

Under the terms of the agreement CryptoLogic, will roll out the suite of games later this year, with one game already live on Bettson’s casinoeuro site.

Bettson will provide CryptoLogic with recurring revenue based on wagers placed by Betsson’s gamblers.

A loss of $24.8 million or $1.97 a share has been reported with quarterly revenue down 13% to $9.9 million due to lower contributions from Internet radio and Internet poker businesses.

“2009 was a tough year as a number of adverse factors including a global economic downturn overshadowed the company’s progress in implementing its innovative new strategy to reduce costs and return to growth. At the same time, new business momentum remains encouraging as branded games continue to roll out and hosted casino licensees implement new initiatives. CryptoLogic said they expect to further reduce overhead cost in 2010 by implementing additional measures to streamline operations and lower overall employee expenses.

As well as integrating its Cyprus office with existing operations in Malta. As a result of the relocation being completed later this year the company hopes to enhance customer service and back office capability. Staff based in Cyprus are being offered the opportunity to relocate.

In addition the company is also actively developing gaming content tailored for the rapidly expanding mobile Internet, social networking and 3-D environments with its first 3-D games anticipated to be launched in Q2 2010.

Virgin Casino, part of the leading online gaming company – Virgin Games announced today that they will add Cryptologic’s, King Kong, Call of Duty and Thor games to its list of casino games.

Both King Kong and Call of Duty 4 are 25 payline slots where players can unlock multiple bonus rounds and win both free spins and mystery cash prizes.

CryptoLogic will add the new licensing deal to its list of recurring revenue providers as it receives a percentage of wagers placed by Bet24 customers.

In order to reach that goal, Cryptologic has signed a three year deal with Realex Payments to provide increased functionality and additional capacity.

Under terms of the deal Realex Payments will provide payment processing for Cryptologic across a variety of currencies, regions and card types, acting as a gateway service to its card acquiring partners, the majority of which are online casinos.

The partnership allows Cryptologic to significantly improve its technical infrastructure which will support future growth plans and demands around security and reliability.

Earlier this week the game provider announced a new line of downloadable games based on big entertainment brands including DC Comics and Paramount Pictures.

The companies stock, CRYP, opened the market today at $3.10 up $0.04 from Monday’s opening price of $3.06. The month’s high was reached on December 1st at $3.53 and a low of $2.88 on December 9th.

The new game pack features big entertainment brands including DC Comic’s Superman and Paramount Pictures’ Forest Gump and Braveheart, as well as video slot games Just Vegas and Fumi’s Fortune, a new table game Perfect Pairs Blackjack and an Asian influenced game Sic-Bo. CryptoLogic’s video poker line up will also get a new variant, a “Double Double Bonus”.

The game developer has recently signed a multi-year deal with Paramount Digital Entertainment making the Forrest Gump and Braveheart games possible.

Under the terms of the multi year deal CryptoLogic will license at least five of their top slot games to be used on BetClic’s gaming site. CryptoLogic’s technology platform provider Gaming Technology Solutions will be used to integrate the games.

The licensing agreement will provide the gaming company with a recurring revenue stream based on wagers placed by over one and half million BetClic customers.

The innovative developer of branded online betting and Internet based casino games has launched one of its top performing slot games on Unibet.com. The website is one of Europe’s largest online casino sights and is just one of the many gaming sites now available to CryptoLogic.

The contract calls for at least six additional games to be launched on the site by the end of the year and at least three more in early 2010. The games will reach more than 3.6 million players in more than 100 countries. The Unibet website operates online sports betting, live betting, casino, poker, lotteries, bingo and a series of soft games.

GTS will pay the company a share of the wagers placed by players.

According to President and CEO, Brian Hadfield, the revenue potential is significant as so many new players can now experience the extraordinary e-gaming innovation.

Disney purchased Marvel for a $4 billion combination of stock and cash. While most of the top superheroes are already locked into various merchandising and licensing deals, like the CryptoLogic online casino deal, Disney may plan to alter agreements as they expire.

Disney is known as a company fiercely protective of its manufactured “family-friendly” image, going so far as to fine workers seen in public without full costume. If Marvel heroes are merged with Mickey Mouse and company at children’s parks, gambling contracts may bring heat from religious groups.

While CryptoLogic’s current deals run through 2011, the future of comic book hero online slots may be up in the air for a while.

Stikeman had been chairman since this month in 2003, and on the board since 2002. He has been CryptoLogic secretary since 1996, and is a partner in a law firm he helped establish, which often represents CryptoLogic.

Gavagan is the founder of Hibernia Capital, at which he was senior partner until 2006.

“As CryptoLogic enters a new stage of its development, today’s announcement reflects our continued commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance and to long-term value for our shareholders,” Gavagan said in a written statement.

The new games continue a period of aggressive activity for CryptoLogic, which has both released games and signed new licensing agreements at a prodigious rate.

The current issues feature a slot machine version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which is based on the best-selling video action game. It is expected to quickly become a favorite for Internet gambling fans.

CryptoLogic also released several other new video slots, and enhanced online versions of blackjack and roulette.

The company continues to distance itself from the turbulence of a hostile takeover attempt by its former CEO.

The online casino software provider will power at least ten Internet slot machines for Gala Coral, a British gaming company with over 19,000 employees. CryptoLogic said the games will be introduced at several Gala sites this spring.

Among the sites expected to host CryptoLogic games are Eurobet, Galacasino, and Galabingo.

No details were released as to which games would be made available, but CryptoLogic’s most popular slots are those featuring Marvel Comics superheroes, inlcluding slots based on Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, and the X-Men.

CryptoLogic also has a deal in place to develop online casino games using DC Comic characters, including Superman and Batman.

CryptoLogic has been highly aggressive in the past few months, signing new developpment deals and licensing arrangements, while slamming the door on a hostile takeover bid by its former CEO.

CryptoLogic will supply TGN with casino games both for download and non-download play. TGN operates such sites as lottery.co.uk, bingoboogie.co.uk, and bingobonanza.co.uk.

CryptoLogic has been aggressive this quarter in expanding its range and signing a variety of ambitios deals, both giving it greater exposure and increasing the brands employed by its online slots and other gambling games.

CryptoLogic announced today the online casino software developer is declaring a loss for the last quarter of 2008 of almost $26 million. The figure means a loss per share of $2.05.

As has been common among gaming company losses, the numbers include write-downs, one-time restructuring costs, and $1.6 million held in escrow as severance for ex-CEO Javaid Aziz. CryptoLogic is contending Aziz has broken his contract and forfeited his golden parachute.

Minus one-time items, CryptoLogic expects the loss per share to equal twenty-two cents. Analysts often disregard special costs like write-downs.

The company pointed to recently signed deals with Paramount Pictures and DC Comics, as well as the agreements with new licensees such as 888.com, as marks of returning profitability in 2009.

Among the twenty-plus movies that will be available to CryptoLogic are such classics as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Braveheart, Beverly Hills Cop, and Forrest Gump.

CryptoLogic has moved to add the movie exclusive rights and ink a deal with DC Comics following the loss of exclusivity with Marvel Comics to competitor Playtech.

CryptoLogic also negotiated the rights to open its own, in-house online casino featuring its movie-based slot machines.

“We are excited to be able to work with CryptoLogic, a leader in this space, and are confident that they will develop games that are on par with the quality and calibre of Paramount Pictures properties,” commented Paramount Vice-President Luke Letizia.

Analysts said the unchanged dividend demonstrated a desire by the CryptoLogic board to project confidence amid company turmoil.

While CryptoLogic earnings have been steady, there has been continuing turbulence within the company’s upper echelon. Former CEO Javaid Aziz has tried to force an emergency general meeting of shareholders in an attempt to retake control of the gaming company.

Aziz’s efforts have thus far been rebuffed by CryptoLogic executives. CryptoLogic officials say Aziz has forfeited a substantial seven figure payment due him by violating terms of his severance agreement.

Still CryptoLogic has inked new deals, including an exclusive partnership with DC Comics, and produced a hot new online slot based on the video game series “Call to War.” Analysts say, if the board can stabilize things, prospects should be bright.

CryptoLogic had done so well with Marvel and its brands that the company recently signed a new deal with DC Comics, bringing the only superheroes known on an iconic basis not controlled by Marvel to the company’s games. DC’s Batman and Superman characters gave CryptoLogic all the best-known comic book adventurers.

Now, Playtech’s new arrangement with Marvel may disrupt CryptoLogic plans to corner the superhero worlds. Not only can Playtech use such characters as the Incredible Hulk and the X-Men, but CryptoLogic’s deal with Marvel expires in 2010.

Unless an extension can be agreed on, CryptoLogic now faces the possibility of aligning with DC against Marvel and Playtech, and the chance of losing the brands employed at a dozen of its most successful online slots.

Marvel reported this week earnings per share ten percent over industry estimates, plus a growing number of new forms of exposure for company brands. Characters such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Incredible Hulk received boosts in public recognition through highly successful movies.

CryptoLogic had previously based casino games on many Marvel superheroes, such as X-Men, Spider-Man, and the Silver Surfer. New games this year from the slot manufacturer featuring the Hulk and Iron Man move to take advantage of the increasing Marvel brand power.

CryptoLogic also recently signed a licensing agreement with DC Comics, Marvel’s main competitor, allowing CryptoLogic to keep total control of comic superheroes in the gaming industry. The DC brand includes Batman and Superman, the two best-known comic heroes in the world.
