Wynn Resorts, (WYNN: 101.54 -2.89%) Las Vegas casino employees have filed suit against the gaming company, citing the negative effects of second hand smoke exposure. The suit is being handled by Kamber Edelson law firm from Chicago, and is the second case of such taken on by the firm. In July, Kamber Edelson filed a similar action by workers at Caesar’s Palace.

The suit alleges that that long term exposure to second hand smoke leads to an array of illnesses. Employees involved in the suit have stated that Wynn casino management prohibits dealers to designate certain tables as smoke free, to request patrons to move ash trays or to make negative gestures, such as, fanning smoke away.

Attorneys handling the case have indicated that they will include evidence of measures taken by other Vegas casinos, such as the Bellagio and Palazzo, to reduce the employees’ exposure to smoke. While casinos across the US have resisted smoking bans in their establishments, some have made voluntarily efforts to install air filtration systems, and to designate smoke free corridors throughout their hotels and casinos.
